PRINCE OF WALES’
LODGE No. 1338
About Our Lodge
Who are we?
We are young, old, single, married, fathers and grandfathers.
We are teachers, engineers, plumbers, accountants, draftsmen, lawyers, builders and electricians.
We are Pakeha, Maori, Pacific, Chinese, Indian and Filipino.
We are Christian, Jewish, Hindu and Muslim.
We share one thing in common – we are brothers! We have all gone through the same initiation, experienced the same ceremonies and share the same values.
Above all, we are friends united in our desire to live our lives well, to be good men and to leave the world a better place.
What do we do?
We meet monthly. Part of those meetings are the usual business of any group but the major part is to perform a ceremony for the benefit of a member – the ceremonies are how we impart our values and traditions.
After the formal meeting, we gather, as friends, to share a meal and a few drinks.
We take pleasure in welcoming our friends from other lodges and, in turn, visiting their lodges.
Lastly, and most importantly, we work as a team to benefit the community in some way – for example, by decorating a children’s hospital ward for Christmas or raising money to assist a hospice.
